For the past 14 years, I’ve had the honor and pleasure of traveling to New Orleans. When I took up resin crafting, I thought it would be fun—and meaningful—to use epoxy resin to preserve some of the beads and special treasures collected during parade season.

The result? A set of really cool coasters that turned out even better than I imagined.

Like any creative project, there were a few challenges along the way, but practice truly makes perfect—and every pour is part of the journey.

How to Create Embedded Bead Resin Coasters ✨

At Resin Art Craft Club, we love turning meaningful items into functional art. This technique allows you to suspend beads, charms, or keepsakes perfectly inside your resin projects.

By pouring in layers and allowing the resin to partially cure, you gain full control over placement—no sinking, floating, or shifting. This method works beautifully for coasters, trays, and keepsake pieces.

1️⃣ Mix resin + mica powder
2️⃣ Pour mold 50% full
3️⃣ Let resin partially cure (gel stage)
4️⃣ Place beads or embellishments
5️⃣ Let set (1–2 hrs fast resin | 2–4 hrs regular)
6️⃣ Pour remaining resin
7️⃣ Cure, demold, sand smooth
